Testing Circular Polarizing Filter
I have read about the circular polarizing filter on photography books and sites. It is mentioned that circular polarizing filter
can help to do the following:
1. Darkening a Blue Sky
2. Increasing Color Saturation and Contrast
3. Getting Rid of Reflections
4. Doubling Up as a Neutral Density Filter
It is time to check out the effect from the a circular polarizing filter.
The circular polarizing filter has 2 rings, one is a fixed ring to be mounted on the lens and the other is a rotating ring for the photographer to adjust the level of effect.
The effect is best noticed in the following two photos (click on the photo for a bigger view):
No post processing were made on these two photos. It can be easily noticed that with the circular polarizing filter, the sky was darker and the water reflection was not so noticeable.
The Circular Polarizing Filter is a useful tool for the photographer to create the effect wanted.
